Description
- Cog carrier for Rohloff's gear hub, suitable for both the 135mm OLD hub and the 170mm wide.
- Thanks to the highly polished TC-seal surface, an optimal sealing function of the hub is guaranteed - better than the original! And more permanent.
- Universally suitable for conventional chain drives by classic pinions. Also suitable for Gates® belt pinions with a bore diameter of 39mm. Not suitable for Gates® belt pinions with a bore diameter of 38.2mm!
- an aluminum lockring secures the cog on the carrier - no clacking of the pinion while riding! The counter ring is equipped with a standard Shimano® Hollowtech 2 bottom bracket toothing so that it can be conveniently opened and closed with a socket from various manufacturers (see illustration). Simply turn on and you're done. Without extra tools.
- the pinion carrier is mounted on the hub axle and remains there permanently. Only the lockring is removed to change the pinion.
- The pinion carrier is compatible with Gates® Carbondrive pinions from 19 teeth upwards, which have a bore diameter of 39mm. Chain sprockets, such as the Rohloff® chain sprocket, can be ridden from 14 teeth upwards.
- The 3 versions of the pinion carrier differ as follows:
- Road light : the chain line is 1.2 mm narrower (chain line of 53.8 mm on the 135 mm Speedhub with chain pinion), which makes it easier to use on racing bikes.
- Standard : The chain line corresponds exactly as specified by Rohloff.
- Wide : The chain line is offset outwards by 2mm compared to the standard version. This can be helpful especially for fat bikes, but also bikes with plus tires. It can be used universally for all types of bicycles
- You can find an overview of the achievable chain lines with the individual pinion carriers below.

Better than the original from Rohloff
Rated with 5 out of 5 stars.
no more rattling sprocket on the hub - you can also turn the sprocket with any commercially available Hollowtech 2 key - compared to Rohloff's carrier.
I'am riding the part now for more than 5000km on several wheels (MTB, road) and I have to say that the sealing function is also better - the radial shaft seal of the Speedhub runs on a polished ring of the pinion carrier and does not retract.
